Make Music Day – BOb Gotta + Friends

June 21, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

Featuring previously hosted Buttonwood artists such as Bob Gotta, Cece Borjeson, Ted Paulsen, Stan Sullivan, Kent Aldrich and more!

The international Make Music Day movement brings free, community-wide, outdoor musical celebrations to hundreds of cities worldwide, even Middletown!  Musicians of all abilities and music from any genre will be filling the sidewalks, parks, front porches, and public spaces throughout Middletown with the sounds of local musicians performing, FREE, for all to enjoy. Everyone is invited to participate in this international day of music by performing, providing an outdoor space, appreciating, or volunteering. No experience necessary!

Join us at Buttonwood Tree to get away from the heat; there will be snacks and beverages aplenty, and numerous performances from various artists both familiar and new!

Performers:

Bob GottaBob Gotta – Local guitarist and vocalist who’d been hosting his own open mic at Buttonwood for decades! He plays originals and covers in minimal, soulful solos.

Stan Sullivan – A singer-songwriter-guitar instrumentalist and blues performer who’d performed at Buttonwood last year! His repertoire features love songs, humorous ditties and tales about artists, religion, the changing of the seasons and all the interesting characters this man had met on his long, well-trodden road.

Cece Borjeson – Folk singer with a gentle voice and an even softer soul. Her ballads and ditties are sure to lift you high, and rest you upon a passing cloud.

Ted Paulsen – With a rich voice and deft acoustic skill, this cafe-wandering minstrel uses jazz-influenced tunes to connect with you in a relatable, ironic way.

Kent Aldrich – A folk guitarist with a life of experience to sing about.
