All The Write Ways: A Workshop for Self-Expression

January 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EST

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until March 14, 2020

Join published writer and instructor Briana Una McGuckin for this eight-week workshop. Each week, you’ll explore a fresh form of writing (from found poetry and lyric essays to memoir and genre fiction). After reading an example piece of a type of writing, you’ll participate in a group discussion about the defining features and strengths of the work before writing something of your own.

This workshop is meant to expose you to many different types of writing, to give you new tools for self-expression. Writers aiming to publish are welcome, but the primary goal of this workshop is for participants to know themselves better, as writers and as human beings, through the art of the written word.

Briana Una McGuckin has been published online in The New York Times, The Arcanist and Breath & Shadow. She writes gothic fiction and fantasy. She blogs about having cerebral palsy and a non-traditional family (MoonMissives.com). She is a former academic librarian, and currently a student at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in pursuit of her M.F.A.. She is Editor-in-Chief of Poor Yorick, the literary journal of the WCSU M.F.A. Program. Follow her on Twitter @BrianaUna
