November Art Show: Doors to Hope and Healing … the heARTbeat of our home

Who: The Department of Children and Families together with Hearts, Hands and Homes community Collaborative will host a statewide event to create awareness for National Adoption Awareness Month
What: Art Show / Adoption Testimonials and information about becoming an adoptive home
“Doors to hope and healing … the heARTbeat of our home”
Speakers: Commissioner Katz, Anne Marie Stonoha, Adoption Social Work Supervisor, Barbara Herman (Adoptive parent) – Waterbury Region, Iannantuoni family (bio teens will talk about how it felt to adopt a medically complex heart gallery child – Gannon) – New Haven Family and Kimberly Fontaine (Daughter, Pheobe, will talk about how it felt to be adopted as a teen) – Middletown family. Carrie Draghi, photographer, will talk about her experience as a Heart Gallery Photographer.
Artwork by foster/adoptive kids will be on display as well as Heart Gallery Pictures for the month of November
The Main Street Business District is partnering with us to creating Main Street awareness of Adoption Month. There will be blue bows tied around the lamp posts and area businesses will display our literature and information about Adoptions in CT.
