Khalif Neville and Hiroyuki Shido

October 20 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Khalif Neville will be returning to the Buttonwood Tree for his fourth performance to date, this time he will be joined by the amazing Hiroyuki Shido on Bass. Together they combine the cutting edge techniques of modern day jazz with their own atmospheric and ethereal sounds the likes of which are rarely heard.

Khalif Neville was born into the musical gumbo that is New Orleans Louisiana, he was also born into the musical gumbo that is the ‘First Family of Funk’, The Neville’s. He moved to Massachusetts at a young age and studied with his father Charles Neville of The Neville Brothers from his early days. Combing his fathers ageless knowledge of the birth of Jazz, Blues, Funk and many other great styles of music, with his own contemporary innovations and ideas, Khalif tends to lay down a killer set.

Hiroyuki Shido was born in Tokyo, and when he moved to Massachusetts he brought with him a unique blend of rhythmic and atmospheric energy that he delivers through his one of a kind 6-string bass.
